H I S T O R Y ;
When a Guardian of the Altar first says his vows, he is sealed into his office for life with the chains of his faith, something supposedly stronger than any steel. He gives up greed, lust, gluttony; he gives up his human sins to better serve the Dragons above. If he breaks these vows, he is expelled from the position, the faith, and the country in shame and embarrasment.
Benjamin's sin, however, took place before he took up office. He went against everything he learnt in the Church of the Light Dragons in exchange for one night of passion. It would have gone hidden, unknown to all but him, save for one complication. One little, baseborn complication.
His night with a foriegner, who had come to study the faith, resulted in the birth of a baby boy. Desperate to keep his steadily rising position, he begged, pleaded, and finally convinced his wife to act as though it was hers. The child was named Luka after her father, Lucius.
Luka soon grew into a solemn, long-haired boy, who preferred prayers over swords and adults over his fellow children; it was generally agreed upon that he was mature beyond his years. Benjamin's wife, however, never lost her resentment of the boy, seeing him as a constant reminder of something she'd rather forget. Eventually, after years of tense silence between the two, he was sent to a temple of the Light Dragons at age 12, one across the country from his home.
The circumstances of one's birth had no effect on one's service, and he proved himself to be a promising student. Bright, gentle, and pious, he seemed to have promise. On his seventeenth birthday, he was raised to priesthood. Now, at nineteen, he lives at the church, serving the Dragons he holds dear.
P E R S O N A L I T Y ;
Despite being illegitimate, Luka is more his father's son than any of his half-siblings. He is deeply religious, and believes in the goodness of both the Church and the Dragons. Outside of his religion, Luka is a kind, gentle optimist, who sees the best in everyone around him.
While he holds both Light and Dark in high regard, he differs from his father in that he feels a special affinity for the Dragons of Darkness. However, as he lives in a temple dedicated to the Light, he keeps such feelings hidden.
He insists to all that he has no qualms over his birth. A small part of him, however-- the same part who watches the followers of Darkness with awe and envy-- a small part of him wishes that he was his father's trueborn son. It wishes he was like his half-siblings, happily at home with their family. It wishes he knew his mother.
But at the end of the day, Luka knows that he is a bastard, born and bred, and wishes cause nothing but pain.

Oh yeah, and he's bi, and man that kinda sucks!!
A P P E A R A N C E ;
Luka more resembles resembles his late mother more than his father. He has light hair and light eyes, with tanned skin from working in the temple gardens. He normally dresses in the typical garb of priests: loose robes in earth tones, with his hair tied back and away from his face.
